Qatar cancels one Heathrow route due to 787 grounding Qatar was one of the last airlines to ground the plane.

Qatar Airways is temporarily reducing the services on the Doha-London Heathrow route from five to four, due to the grounding of the 787, Routes Online has reported.

QR075 and QR076 will be cancelled until January 31, with an extension of cancellation possible.

The airline had introduced the 787 on the Heathrow route last month and had announced plans to expand its Europe programme by adding the 787 on routes to Munich, Zurich and Frankfurt.

In related news, US and Japanese aviation safety officials visited the headquarters of GS Yuasa Corp., the 787's battery maker, to investigate further, Reuters has reported.

US officials ruled out excess voltage as the cause of battery fires on board the plane, but are probing deeper into the matter.

All 50 Dreamliners have been grounded until the issue is fixed.
